Novodel Square Copper Plate Money.

Novodel Square Copper Plate Money. Ruble, 1725. Ekaterinburg. Each corner bears the impression of a 37.4mm die presenting the triply crowned imperial eagle holding orb and scepter, circle on breast with the Empress' monogram. All four impressions show the same inward bulge at 7:00. At center is a 39.2mm die giving the Mint name, denomination COIN RUBLE, date. Type Bitkin 391, Brekke 59. Square plate 198 x 197mm, 6mm thick. Illustrations in Brekke and Bitkin are the same piece from different dies, presumably of Catherine's time and showing details unlike the later Restrike or Novodel offered here. About Uncirculated.
