Russia, Catherine the Great (1762-1796), 10 roubles, 1767, St Petersburg mint, final 7 of date over 6 (or possibly 5), draped and cuirassed bust right, rev., crowned cruciform shields with date numerals in angles, 13.11g (Diakov 158; cf Sev. 283), tiny test-marks on edge, good very fine. Provenance: Count Emeryk Hutten Czapski (1897-1979), grandson of the celebrated collector, numismatist and historian of the same name; thence by descent.
