Cruciform crowned shield,_x000D_ with date in angles. Well struck, with small marks and lustrous_x000D_ surfaces. An extremely rare, one-year type with a small mintage of_x000D_ only 9,482 pieces, of which only a tiny number survive._x000D_ Ex. The Moreira Collection, Lot 1234_x000D_ Peter III was born in Kiel Germany, the son of Peter the Great's_x000D_ eldest surviving daughter. He spoke little Russian and had little_x000D_ feeling for the Russian people.
