One of the earlier pattern coins with Catherine's crowned cypher on the obverse. It was almost immediately replaced with the local coat of arms type to prevent redemption of the coinage within Russia itself. A solid example of the type, and completely original. Deep coffee bean brown patination and moderately worn but completely intact devices. A well made piece and desirable representation of this RARE pattern coinage.NGC FINE-15 BN. From the E.E.
