Paul I Albertus Rouble 1796-БM MS61 NGC, St. Petersburg_x000D_ mint, Bit-14 (R1), Sev-2381 (R), UZD-1257 (RR), Petrov 12 Rub. Obv._x000D_ crowned double-headed imperial eagle with wings up, holding scepter_x000D_ and orb. Rev. Four-line inscription in ornate frame, "NOT UNTO US_x000D_ NOT UNTO US BUT IN THY NAME." Struck to conform to the Albertus_x000D_ Taler standard, which was the standard Taler weight for use in_x000D_ trade in much of the Baltic Region. Superbly struck and the most_x000D_ pleasing example of this rare, one-year type Rouble we have seen._x000D_ Small contact marks are noted, as one might expect of the grade,_x000D_ with the pleasing gray and russet patina accented by considerable_x000D_ original mint luster. We have handled very few examples of this_x000D_ iconic issue in Mint State and none with a more pleasing_x000D_ appearance.
