Paul I Rouble 1798 CM-MБ MS63 NGC, St. Petersburg mint, KM-C101a, Bit-32. Obv. Cross of four crowned cyrillic P's, with date in legend. Rev. Four-line inscription in ornamental tablet. An immensely gratifying representative of the type cloaked in a soft steel patina, which graces surfaces revealing no larger traces of contact or handling. This toning has subdued the central fields somewhat, though closer inspection confirms a preservation that is undeniably Mint State, with a lustrous underlying glow supporting this fact, along with well-kept design features, these absent even a hint of wear.
