Peter I Rouble A??I (1719) OK-IL-L VF Details (Surface_x000D_ Hairlines) NGC, Moscow mint, KM157.2, Dav-1653, Bit-821. An_x000D_ exceptionally rare issue, even in the present condition, this issue_x000D_ displays the special allure peculiar to the early Russian rouble_x000D_ series. The reverse exhibits a markedly uneven strike with the left_x000D_ half of the design remarkably crisp while the right is soft and_x000D_ weakly struck. On the obverse, some light flan cracks appear on the_x000D_ right shoulder of Peter's robes while the O in POCИI shows evidence_x000D_ of doubling. Even so, this piece retains much of its original_x000D_ appeal and was saved from the gaudy polished appearance so common_x000D_ on these early issues._x000D_ From the Jamestown Collection
