Peter I gold 2 Roubles 1720 MS63 PCGS, Red mint, KM158.5,_x000D_ Fr-91, Bitkin-113, Diakov-24. Obv. Laureate, draped, and armored_x000D_ bust right, with palm branch on chest. Rev. St. Andrew standing_x000D_ facing, wearing nimbus crown and drapery, and carrying the saltire_x000D_ cross on which he was crucified. A wondrous specimen, with_x000D_ exceptionally sharp detail and centering of strike, this piece_x000D_ offers a pleasing golden-orange tone, with hints of cabernet near_x000D_ the devices. Highly choice, and possessing a quality rarely_x000D_ encountered in Russian coinage of this period, this enchanting_x000D_ issue from Peter I 'the Great' maintains a great deal of stunning_x000D_ eye-appeal, and is worthy of much consideration. Though lacking the_x000D_ present coin's charming toning patterns, a similar ungraded example_x000D_ sold in Stack's January 2007 sale (lot 3302), and realized a hammer_x000D_ of $26,000.
