The fields are_x000D_ fully mirrored and the devices nicely frosted with bold definition._x000D_ A touch of greenish patina enhances the pleasant appearance and_x000D_ minor hairlines keep this piece from the Gem category. An extremely_x000D_ rare issue. The circulation strike has a tiny mintage of only_x000D_ 14,036 pieces and these pieces seldom appear for sale, and even an_x000D_ average condition piece would fetch five figures in today's market._x000D_ We know of only two pieces in Proof, the example offered here and a_x000D_ piece in Proof 65 sold by Heritage in 2006 for $34,500. This piece,_x000D_ while not Proof 65, is a very nice coin, with no significant_x000D_ imperfections. We expect considerable interest in this Exceedingly_x000D_ rare item.
